THE MAKERHAUS MATERIALS LIBRARY
Interaction Design | Industrial Design
Sketching, Lo-fi prototyping, laser cutting,
Over the winter of 2013, I had the privilege to help the Makerhaus, a hip maker shop in the Seattle area, to implement a materials library for the use of their eclectic members.
A system to connect MakerHaus users with featured distributors
MakerHaus members are part of Seattle's maker community and cover a wide range of professions from craftsmen to architects and designers.
We started with a designated wall in the loft area of the Haus.
From the start, we had a great number of stunning material samples, and were waiting for more in the mail.
A hanger configuration worked best for space saving and keeping the samples protected.
